BANNER WEEKEND FOR BSI RACING IN TOYOTA GR CUP NORTH AMERICA

September 25, 2023 -

It was a podium-winning weekend for BSI Racing at the Sebring International Raceway. For the first time in their Toyota GR Cup North America program history, BSI Racing was able to celebrate with a podium finish at the hands of team newcomer Jordan Rick Segrini in the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend. With more than 30 drivers in the field, BSI Racing scored three top-15 results to continue their progress.

On the result sheets, it was Jordan Rick Segrini who led the way with an impressive day on Saturday. Qualifying in the third position, Rick Segrini improved one position when wheel-to-wheel action began, advancing one position to cross the line in the second. Qualifying for race two, Rick Segrini struggled to find top-ten pace starting P14 ultimately finishing P26 as the team had to retire due to contact.

“We came into the weekend ready to prove what the team and I are capable of, and I think we showed exactly that in race one,” explained Rick Segrini. “A third-place effort in qualifying and podium finish in second proves just that. I believe Steven and I are in a good spot to work together for some solid results in the final round of the year at Indy.”

In the first race of the weekend, Steven Clemons Jr. turned his 19th-place qualifying effort into a 13th-place finish gaining six spots throughout the first wheel-to-wheel action. Qualifying for race two saw a nine-position gain from race one qualifying effort with a final finishing position of 11th when the checkered flag flew.

“It was a good weekend all around and as I have mentioned in the past, if we improve on the qualifying, we can finish a lot better,” added Clemons Jr. “We fought hard to move forward in the first race and race two was a good effort to qualify in the top-ten. Ready for Indy and looking to finish the 2023 season on a high.

“A huge congrats and thank you to both Jordan and Steven for their continued push and strive to make BSI a better program,” explained Shea Holbrook. “We made some major headway this weekend and looking forward to Indy, have reset our goals to finish the season strong.”

The next stop for BSI Racing and the Toyota GR Cup North America program is at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Rounds 13 and 14 over the October 5-8 weekend.

BSI Racing raised $13,500 for three-year-old Eli Myers with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer in their racing efforts through the Chasin’ A Dream Foundation. The team will continue their efforts leading into the championship weekend at Indy. Followers can still make donations directly to www.ChasinADream.org.
