The BSI Racing Story
BSI Racing is a full-service race support team providing turnkey services and solutions so you can focus on having fun driving. Located 5-miles from Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. BSI Racing has been in business since 1987 specializing in building and servicing Mazda Spec Miata’s and providing trackside and storage support. Our current programs create a ladder system to professional racing from Spec Miata, Spec MX-5 Challenge to Mazda MX-5 Cup. The 21,000 square foot facility offers fabrication services such as roll cages, engineering and construction of race cars, antique restorations, trackside support, turnkey rentals, coaching, transportation, race car graphics and race car and trailer storage.
The team’s roots are in amateur racing with a long history of racing in SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) which draw hundreds of competitors on race weekends. Spanning from professional racers to novice motorsports drivers, BSI offers door-to-door competitive racing and high-performance events for those looking for non-competitive track thrills.
BSI’s extensive experience between the employee’s, number of chassis built and sold, trackside support and on track successes easily ranks them a top tier team in the racing paddock for customers.
In 2021, BSI Racing gains new ownership as Stu Brumer steps back turning ownership over to familiar names in the paddock, Shea Holbrook, and Nick Chorley. This exciting partnership adds tremendous value to the BSI customers and future programs.
Shea Holbrook and Nick Chorley have successfully cultivated and executed several business-to-business opportunities along with corporate partnerships in their 10+ year careers.
Shea Holbrook, a 7-Time Pirelli World Challenge winner, spent her recent years racing amateur and professional series such as in SCCA, IMSA’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo and the W Series, a unique all-female European open-wheel series.
Nick Chorley has overseen racing operations along with working for Touring Car, Trans Am and GT teams for 10 years as a car chief, mechanic, and team operations.
Stu Brumers technical experience built BSI where the business flourished as one of the first dominating the Mazda Spec Miata class. Brumer, known as one of the best in the Spec Miata industry transitions knowledge and skill sets to Holbrook and Chorley.
Recognized in the amateur and professional ranks of motorsports BSI Racing focuses on its customers and their goals both for career and hobby.
Today, BSI Racing continues race in SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), NASA (National Auto Sport Association), HSR (Historical Racing Series), PBOC and ChampCar among others. BSI Racing is the prep shop for Hixon Motor Sports at the professional level of Mazda MX-5 Cup which races alongside IMSA. The teams also provide rentals for high-performance enthusiasts and those looking to obtain their competition licenses at events such as Chin Track Days, Hooked On Driving, and SCCA.
