Julian DaCosta Joins BSI Racing for Toyota GR Cup at Sebring

BSI Racing announces the addition of Julian DaCosta for the upcoming Sebring International Raceway event for Rounds 3&4 of the Toyota GR Cup championship. DaCosta is no stranger to BSI Racing, as he also is in the midst of his rookie season in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin. He is also coming off of a recent Trans Am TA2 race, his first in that platform.

DaCosta’s addition marks the fourth driver to run under the BSI tent, joining series veteran Steven Clemmons, and fellow rookies Maddie Aust and Maximilian Hewitt.

“I’m really excited to hop into a GR86 car and run in this series,” said DaCosta.

“We’ve had a great experience running with BSI and I have an awesome relationship with Shea and the crew, so I look forward to spending more time on this team in another platform. I look forward to joining the BSI teammates and the GR Cup paddock at Sebring.”

DaCosta has already earned a pair of top-ten finishes on the MX-5 Cup side this season and led late at Daytona during the opening weekend at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. His Toyota GR Cup livery will be black and neon yellow, sporting number 78.

“Julian is another driver with a lot of potential,” said Team Owner and Team Principal Shea Holbrook.

“We’re excited to get Julian additional experience as GR Cup is becoming more and more popular. It’s been a year and a half of working with Julian and his family to this point. It’ll be great to add him to the roster and I think we’ll see Julian will be competitive out of the gate.”

DaCosta will make his Toyota GR86 Cup Debut, May 3-5 at DaCosta’s home track of historic Sebring Raceway, in Sebring, Florida.
