BSI Concludes Successful 2024 Campaign

Daytona, Florida –

October 17, 2024

BSI Racing wrapped up its 2024 campaign last weekend at Michelin Raceway-Road Atlanta. The final race on Friday marked the conclusion of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, presented by Michelin Tires. The team also finished their Toyota GR Cup season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway the week before.

A nasty wreck would retire Steven Clemons, no. 76 Endava GR86, in race one. Contact from a competitor near Clemons would cause another car to turn and hit Clemons head-on at the famous race track. Both drivers would be OK, while Clemons returned to the grid in a backup car for Sunday’s finale, where he finished P10. Clemons finished P8 in the overall points championship.

Jordan RickSegrini ended his season with another P6 performance. RickSegrini found himself in a battle for P3 as the lead pack worked its way through the road course in race two. RickSegrini ultimately finished P6 in the points championship despite missing the first race of the season at Sonoma.

Max Hewitt would finish the season P9 while Maddie Aust finished P30.

On the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup side of things, it was an eventful first year in the series under the BSI tent. With nine podiums and three wins on the year, BSI Racing laid the foundation for a successful future in the highly competitive series.

Series fan-favorite Selin Rollan kicked things off with a P3 finish at Daytona to start the season. Driving phenom Connor Zilisch earned his first podium of the year with back-to-back P2 finishes at Sebring in March while getting his only MX-5 Cup win at Mid-Ohio in June. Zilisch would finish his 2024 MX-5 Campaign with a P2 finish at CTMP in July.

Jonathan Neudorf found success in his second full season in the MX-5 Cup. With a P9 finish in the championship, Neudorf showed consistent improvement in every race, narrowly missing the podium a couple of times in the second half of the season. In the series finale, Neudorf found himself the victim of a nasty crash at Road Atlanta.

After going off-track in the front straight, contact from behind forced Neudorf’s car to lose control, slamming the wall just before turn one. Thankfully, Neudorf would walk away completely unharmed.

Heather Hadley, the driver of the no. 54 Shift Up Now! livery finished P18 on the season with three “Top Finishing Female” awards.

To cap everything off, series rookie Westin Workman earned the Rookie of the Year award with a P6 overall finish for the season. With four podium finishes, Workman would win a photo-finish thriller for his first career win at Sebring in March. Workman nabbed his second win of his career in race one at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in July.

“I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished this year,” said team owner Shea Holbrook.

“We did a lot of new things this season, and I’m so thrilled with how our drivers and crew performed. It was a special year that paved the foundation for what is going to come. I can’t thank everyone enough for their hard work and commitment to the team. Next season is going to be even better.”

BSI Racing will head to Martinsville, Virginia, next week for a non-points oval race to finish the season. BSI Racing will announce that lineup in the leadup to the race.
