BSI Racing Confirms Eight-Car Lineup for 2026 Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Season
Championship contenders return alongside rising stars and exciting new entries
January 19, 2026
EDGEWATER, Fla. – BSI Racing has officially confirmed an ambitious eight-car lineup for the 2026 Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup season, building on the momentum of a championship-caliber 2025 campaign and reaffirming the team’s commitment to driver development, depth, and title contention.
Coming off a season that saw BSI Racing narrowly miss the Drivers Championship, Tyler Gonzalez returns with unfinished business in the No. 57 Classic Mazda of Orlando entry. Gonzalez and the BSI Racing crew were in strong contention for the 2025 title until late-race contact at Road Atlanta ended championship hopes. That disappointment has been channeled into redemption for 2026.
Joining Gonzalez at the sharp end of the lineup is Ethan Goulart, who will pilot the No. 72 Mazda Lakeland entry. Goulart’s addition significantly strengthens BSI Racing’s championship aspirations for both the Drivers and Team Championships.
Gonzalez will once again campaign the familiar red Classic Mazda of Orlando livery, a package that delivered consistent front-running speed in 2025. Last season, Gonzalez recorded multiple wins, podium finishes, frequent top-five results, and was a fixture at the front of the field throughout the year.
Goulart arrives at BSI Racing following a standout 2025 season highlighted by a rookie race win, and national accolades across multiple disciplines. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished young drivers in North American sports car racing, Goulart will debut a legacy BSI Racing livery, a bright, classic design honoring team alumni Selin Rollan, with backing from Mazda Lakeland.
BSI Racing’s depth is further bolstered by the addition of the Gossett siblings, with Bobby Gossett in the No. 44 and Ellie Gossett in the No. 77 Salty Dog Racing entries, marking a unique brother-sister pairing within the MX-5 Cup paddock. Both drivers bring proven racecraft and competitive experience, adding strength across the full lineup.
Returning to BSI Racing is Julian DaCosta, who will campaign the iconic No. 95 “Lightning McQueen” livery, joined by the bold No. 86 “Chick Hicks” design. Two entries that have become instantly recognizable on track and popular with fans.
Ethan Tyler returns in the No. 80, carrying momentum from impressive qualifying performances, including front-row-contending speed at Daytona. Tyler’s focus for 2026 is converting that raw pace into consistent race results.
Rounding out the lineup is an exciting addition in Tristan McKee, who will drive the No. 7 entry. McKee arrives as a NASCAR development driver, bringing elite pedigree, adaptability, and national attention to the BSI Racing stable as he continues to expand his sports car resume.
With manufacturer support from Classic Mazda of Orlando and Mazda Lakeland, a blend of proven winners and rising stars, and one of the deepest lineups in the paddock, BSI Racing enters the 2026 season firmly focused on returning to championship form.
“Last year hurt, but it also fueled us,” said Shea Holbrook, Team Owner. “This lineup represents resilience, opportunity, and belief in the #BSIBuilt process. We’re coming back stronger, smarter, and ready to fight for both championships.”
The 2026 Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup season opens at Daytona International Speedway, where BSI Racing will look to turn redemption into results and set the tone for a championship run.
